Video: G TOM MAC’s “Cry Little Sister (Swamp Version)” from TRUE BLOOD

Last month at Vampire-Con in L.A., Fango's Pat Jankiewicz reported on a special presentation (read it here) of a new music video for G TOM MAC's famous LOST BOYS anthem, "Cry Little Sister."Tonight, Fango heard from Gerard McMann (aka G TOM MAC) with said video in tow. Inspired by (and used for) HBO's hit series TRUE BLOOD, "Cry Little Sister (Swamp Version)" is a fresh and bluesy take on the song, and you can check out the full clip below.
Starting Monday, September 14, the track will be available as a digital single via iTunes and CD Baby. The video was helmed by Anthony Cappello with Paolo Cascio as the Director of Photography, and was edited by Phillip Lindsey & Daniela Pistone.

Reeves Sheds Some Light On His ‘Let The Right One In’ Remake

Earlier today, the LA Times posted their interview with Matt Reeves, director of the upcoming Let The Right One In remake, Let Me In. In it, he shed some light on the new setting and updates everyone on when the film will be hitting theatres.
Reeves recently finished his second draft of the script, which is now set in Reagan-era Colorado, and is currently scouting locations that will maintain the film and book's snowy landscapes. Although he didn't mention when shooting is planned to start (from the sounds of it, it'll probably be this winter if he plans to take advantage of the necessary weather conditions on his location shoots), he stated that the release date is now Fall 2010, as opposed to January 15.
Also, Reeves is working with casting director Avy Kaufman to find the two leads for the film and "vows [the children] will not be aged-up to make the film more of a smoldering 'Twilight'-style romance," so everyone can rest easy tonight.

DAYBREAKERS site opens, poster appears

A teaser poster for Lionsgate’s upcoming vampire epic DAYBREAKERS has been unleashed (you can check it out below), and an official website for the movie has gone live as well. After bouncing around the schedule for a while, the movie recently settled into a confirmed release date of January 8, 2010.Written and directed by Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig (the Australian brothers behind UNDEAD), DAYBREAKERS is set in an alternate world where bloodsuckers rule, and follows two vampiric siblings (Ethan Hawke, pictured, and Michael Dorman) with radically different views on how to treat the humans they share the planet with. Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill also star. The official site can be found here; there’s not much to it yet, but you can register for updates. You can also look for more DAYBREAKERS coverage here and in the pages of Fango as its debut gets closer.
Johnny Depp Says ‘Dark Shadows’ Could Be Next!

A disappointing piece of news that has been circulating around the web was that Warner Bros. Pictures' adaptation of Dark Shadows was hitting some rough waters. Some good news comes out of the recent junket for Public Enemies as Johnny Depp is telling reporters the project could be Tim Burton's next, read on for the full story.
“ ‘Dark Shadows’ is happening," Depp tells Collider. "Tim is working on ‘Alice in Wonderland’ which is obviously quite a large piece of work there. So when Tim is done with ‘Alice’ and we get the script, which is very, very close, in order we’ll probably attack it next year. It’s exciting, very exciting. It’s like a lifelong dream for me. I loved the show when I was a kid. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six. I’m very excited to do it.”
Over 1,225 episodes, "Dark Shadows" was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies. The show has a continuing rabid fan base that populates Dark Shadows Festival conventions. Numerous TV revivals of the series and pic adaptations have been attempted over the years but none with as high-wattage a star as Depp.

‘Thirst’ Trailer Provides Bite, Intense Vampire Action!

Focus Feature has released the official trailer for Park Chan-wook's highly anticipated vampire comedy/drama Thirst, which arrives in theaters July 31. The trailer is very representational of what you'll see, only it appears to be "action-packed." My advice to all of you who decide to see the film, down two Red Bulls and get ready for two and half hours of Park Chan-wook exposition, mixed with a taste of blood (oh yes, pun intended). The story finds Korea's leading man, Song Kang-ho (The Host), as a much-loved priest who becomes a vampire after a failed medical experiment; he becomes a tortured and depraved soul.

First Look at the Second Season of ‘True Blood’

SOURCE: BD While most teens were anxiously awaiting the release of Twilight, they should have been keeping their eyes glued to HBO Sunday nights for a real vampire drama, True Blood, which will be entering its second season on June 14. If you missed the first season, now is the time to find a way to catch up (Hulu maybe?) on the adaptation that follows Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people's minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the Vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer), walks into her place of employment two years after vampires "came out of the coffin" on national television.
